The Tata Crucible Campus Quiz this time with the 2nd edition had a lot of great questions for the Manipal crowd. It was held in the MIT Library Auditorium and was well received by MITians and other nearby Management and Technical Institutes equally. Me and my friend Sean qualified for the Tie Breaker Round of the Quiz for getting a wild card entry to the finals but failed. The Quiz master was very cordial and made the teams on stage feel at ease. The quiz saw a participation of over a hundred teams, which made it difficult for the Tata Crucible Quiz team to select the entries for the finals. Nevertheless I enjoyed the quiz tremendously as it was brain-picking and refreshing. TAPMI eventually won the Regional Finals of this Quiz and the NIT Surathkal was the Runners-up. There was a stiff competition for the Runners-up between the Boys and Girls teams of NIT and the girls were the winners because of their quick wit. It was shocking as two teams from MIT tried but failed though they were so close to the winning score. It was altogether a refreshing Tata experience and the crowd took the winners well enough. The audience was also great and supportive to the teams on stage. Dr Kumkum Garg, Director of Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal gave away the prizes to the winners and said “MIT Rocks”, which I think, does. All this comes from the middle of my project I am doing at MIT, Manipal and I’m glad I am doing it here as I got to learn new stuff about the world of Business, which I always thought was not important, which I’m not, now.
